In this session we will discuss what the role of crowdsourced annotations is in humanities research. We will divide the discussion in different sections, starting with a presentation of a real case in each part, followed by a discussion about each case. The sections include: a definition of crowdsourcing, the importance of this way of curating information, the responsible people or institutions, the implications for data quality, motivations for doing crowdsourcing, and the different channels and platforms for creating crowdsourcing projects. The session includes a wide variety of examples, also games, and challenging questions to engage all participants in a lively discussion.
