Adham Selim is an architect and writer working from Beirut and Cairo, producing buildings, experiences, objects and texts. He taught design courses and served as a jury member in the German University in Cairo (GUC) and the Lebanese American University in Byblos (LAU). Selim serves as a curatorial adviser for a number of designers including Beirut Makers Collective, and he is currently co-curating the first exhibition in the Middle East dedicated to digital design practices scheduled to be open in Beirut in February 2017. Selim writes on art, architecture and urbanism for a number of publications and journals including Madamasr, Correspondents, Cairobserver and Failed Architecture. Selim's works had been featured in a number of exhibitions including Flat Facade/Deep Structure (Staedelschule, Frankfurt, 2016) The Silver Studio (Staedelschule, Frankfurt, 2012) The Roving Exhibition (Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Hong Kong, 2010) Streetless/Streetness (Cairo Image Collective, Cairo, 2010) and he received several architectural prizes and awards for his designs for the Border-Crossing Facility in Hong Kong, the Parco Solare Sud in southern Italy and the 1+1 Art Center in Beijing. Selim has a Bachelor of Architecture from Ainshams University in Cairo and a Master in Advanced Architectural Design from the Staedelschule in Frankfurt.
